Questionable sanity, unquestionable heroics

We climbed this striking feature of geography to enjoy the view of the beach (although I was not well enough for us to enjoy a swim in the ocean). Normally I wouldn’t post such postcard snaps, but they serve to illustrate a good story. While showing S the nice photo with the ship yards and fishing fleet in the background just as requested, my hat with the pretty hatband blew off–and over the railing. In a feat of questionable sanity but unquestionable heroics, S went under the fence to rescue it for me. We gripped hands until he was sure his footing was secure, but it still took several minutes on a bench to recover from the terror he’d go over the edge. It can still raise my heart rate just to look at the photos.
