I have found a place to stay that is very reasonably priced&#8211;and a writer could not have a better environment. I have a cabin and access to a common kitchen. The &#8220;micro&#8221; (local bus) comes by once an hour. I am 15 minutes by micro from the village of Quilimari where I can get basic groceries. It is a fair walk from the place that sells milk and staples to the place with the best fruit and vegetables. Given the heat, it will be best to make this trip in the mornings.<\/p>\n<p>While I am welcome to use the office computer here for urgent email, there is no wifi here. Or in Quilimari. To get wifi, the only way I can connect to the Internet with my iDevices, I need to take a second micro to Pichidanqui. If I am lucky, the Internet there will work. It is not uncommon for the Internet, ATMs, international phone lines, et cetera not to work in this area. Two weeks ago, it took me three days of trying before I could reach my bank to solve a problem. We were down to $20 in cash. Fortunately, the grocery store took VISA.<\/p>\n<p>S finds the area very agreeable as well and has decided to spend at least a week. He is especially taken with the beach. The water temperature is excellent, the surf gentle, and the sand and water sparkle with gold-coloured flecks.
