We&#8217;re now on vacation from traveling, enjoying island life on Bozcaada. We&#8217;ve escaped the world of tour bus clogged streets, carpet sellers encouraging &#8220;friendship,&#8221; men scowling at teenaged girls without headscarves and showing exposed wrists, waiters peddling tables, and crowds of milling tourists. There are few English speakers here, staff or tourist&#8211;save for the Conde Nast journalist and her entourage staying at our hotel. S is swimming in the ocean a coupe of times a day; we spend our afternoons drinking Turkish tea and playing backgammon in the shade. I will take no photos here, the better to enjoy a rest. Rather, I&#8217;ll share a selection from the album Random Impressions. Thanks for being there as I traveled. Your open hearts helped me open myself and take the journey deeper. See you soon.
